Z-Cron is a central hub for automating software. In addition to the time-controlled start of applications, the program contains numerous tools that help to facilitate automatic system administration. With the Z-Cron tool, programs (*.exe, *.com, *.bat) can be executed and/or terminated under Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7, much like Unix Cron. Z-Cron can be loaded and started via the autostart function or as a system service. Status reports can be sent via the Microsoft messaging service or as an e-mail (via SMTP). The program not only launches other applications, but can also display pop-up windows with reminder texts, or schedule a system shutdown or hibernate the computer (with the option to wake it up again after a certain period of time). The RunAS option allows Z-Cron to start programs with different permissions. All in all, Z-Cron is an excellent tool whose use is particularly beneficial for users of scheduled tasks in Windows. The countless, integrated commands leave nothing to be desired; and if it does: A separate batch file can usually replace the missing command, can be easily adapted and also easily integrated.
